We market and sell La Costa real estate– with much of it accessed by La Costa Avenue.
Lately, I’ve found myself looking for alternative routes to avoid the ugliness, the heavy machinery and delays in getting from one point to another.
La Costa Avenue between El Camino Real and Rancho Santa Fe has had a couple of very major water line breaks lately–resulting in some very serious, costly and lengthy
Danger on La Costa Avenuerepairs. I’m still not sure what lines broke, but there were huge gushers at each end of the road. Unfortunately and at the same time, La Costa Avenue has become Carlsbad’s ugliest and most dangerous with its pot holes, open cracks and scarred red curbs.
I can’t help but wonder if the City of Carlsbad intends to resurface and follow through with planned improvements any time in the near future? In 2011, there was much optimism that La Costa Avenue would have beautifying and traffic-calming measures such as tree-lined medians and gentle roundabouts. These improvements were budgeted promises from the City of Carlsbad that residents are still awaiting.
In the meantime, many south La Costa residents are forced to navigate this bumpy road and hope they don’t lose a hubcap along the way. And we, as La Costa Realtors, are put in the uncomfortable position of trying to explain what is going on with this two-mile stretch of residential road.
Hoping to hear from the City of Carlsbad soon!
